Accessories

Power-Passing Dipexer - PPD
The coaXmedia's Power-Passing Diplexer (PPD) separates or combines the Series 6100 system signals and video signals. A single PPD is used to inject the Series 6100 signals into a cable system for distribution; while two PPDs are used to create bypass around CATV amplifiers, allowing the coaXmedia signals to extend beyond these CATV amplifiers. The PPDs are also designed to operate in outdoor environment, as well as pass AC power; an AC tap is also provide to supply other ancillary equipment, such a Line Extenders with power, when needed.

Line Extender - LE
The coaXmedia Line Extender (LE) provides upstream and downstream signal gain in situations where the loss encountered in a CATV system exceeds the allowable limits of the Series 6100 system (72dB typical). When used with two Power-Passing Diplexers, a LE can provide up to 25dB (max) of additional signal gain; 4 LEs can be cascaded in a CATV distribution network (with proper spacing) to provide an aggregate increase of 100dB (max) in Series 6100 signal gain. The gain for upstream and downstream can be individually adjusted (0-25dB) with field installable attenuator pads, offering the needed flexibility to support nearly any installation situation.

Notch Filter - NF
The coaXmedia Notch Filter (NF), is designed to be used in Frequency Plan B Series 6100 Systems. This NF helps eliminate unwanted noise or signals in the Frequency B equipment operating window that may interfere with Series 6100 transmissions. The NF I typically installed at each Direct Broadcast Satellite (DBS) insertion point.

CABLE OPERATORS:

coaXmedia's Series 6100™ solution offers you the opportunity to multiply your return on investment by enabling the transmission of data over your biggest resource - already installed coaxial cable.Designed specifically to serve high-occupancy hotel and residential buildings, the Series 6100 System successfully solves the problems generated by cable modem installations in this challenging environment.

NO RE-WIRING

The Series 6100 system utilizes proprietary technologies that make it possible to deliver high-speed internet services utilizing existing in-building coaxial cable wiring, without interfering with existing services - CATV, VOD or DBS. This is accomplished through the use of robust digital modulation techniques and frequencies above those normally used by cable television and other coaxial-based services.

NO PLANT UPGRADE REQUIRED

The Series 6100 has been successfully installed in multiple properties around the world with 30+ year old cable plants, where having high speed data seemed an impossibility. While you may need to change out some old taps and splitters, no plant upgrade is required. coaXmedia's High Speed Internet Access System Solution for MDUs and Hotels is the innovative and economical retrofit solution for cable operators.

SIMPLE INSTALLATION AND SUPPORT

System installation is simple - coaXmedia's RF engineers will review the property's as-builts (cable plant schematics) and configure the system design which is verified in an initial site survey. Depending on the size of the property and number of buildings, an experienced cable technician can install the Broadband Gateway and ancillary equipment used to bypass active amps (line extender and 2 diplexers) in a few hours to a few days. Once the Broadband Gateway is installed, the entire property is enabled with high speed data. And because our customer equipment, the SandDollar™ Access Appliance, is designed for self-installation, your technician's job is done...saving loads of money on multiple truck rolls required on other systems to install consumer cable modems.
