InfiNet
Wireless R5000
System description
InfiNet Wireless 5000 Series broadband wireless routers offer
unsurpassed reliability and flexibility to design, build, and manage fixed
BWA networks. With over 300 commercial and corporate InfiNet based
Wireless networks, customers in more than 25 countries have installed tens
of thousands of InfiNet Wireless devices. 5000 Series equipment allows the
user to choose between a point-to-point, point-to-multipoint star or tree
deployment thereby creating a universal platform to network expansion and
growth.
Metro, Suburban, Residential, or Rural Applications
For over 13 years InfiNet Wireless has been creating wireless routers
for a myriad of applications. Metropolitan Area Networks with thousands of
subscribers over hundreds of square kilometers are successfully operating,
with monthly traffic in the 10’s of Tera-bytes. With pre-WiMAX
OFDM-based routers from InfiNet Wireless, hundreds of ISP’s in global
markets are expanding beyond the big cities into residential neighborhoods
and rural areas with triple play multi-services.

Perfect Solution for Start-Up ISP and New Wireless Networks
InfiNet Wireless 5000 solutions offer a unique combination of low
start-up cost, reliability, and scalability. By using a multifunctional
flexible platform, InfiNet Wireless 5000 ensures maximum scalability
across the entire network and low CAPEX costs. This equates to an
unbeatable ROI for ISP and Telco carrier operators. Furthermore, all 5000
Series devices can be used either as a base station, relay station, or CPE
and easily interchanged as the network expands. Deployment time per
building can be reduced to an hour, decreasing truck-roll and deployment
costs.
End-to-End IP-Based Architecture
The 5000 Series is the only end-to-end IP-based systems available to
ISP and Telco carriers. Our solutions provide carriers with unprecedented
types and tiers of services to business, government, and residential
subscribers. The key to the variety and depth of 5000 Series multi-service
platform lies in our unique real time operating system and IP-based
architecture. The company’s technical experts bring strong system-level
understanding of MAC and PHY layers, signaling, network protocols, and RF
as well as cutting-edge NGN technologies. Our IP-based system allows
service providers to offer end-to-end applications, such as Virtual
Private Networks (VPNs) and Video-over-IP for surveillance and emergency
services. The systems are also used in diverse applications such as high
capacity overlay of lower-capacity networks; hot spot and hot zone
backhaul; as well as IP-transport infrastructures for banks, schools, and
multiple service providers (carrier-of-carriers' networks).
Service providers and carriers in more than 25
countries have deployed 5000 Series systems because they meet carriers'
needs for ease of installation, IP-rich network functionality and cost
effectiveness, while enabling rapid deployment and interference-resilient
operation in dense metro and suburban locations. Networks built on InfiNet
Wireless 5000 Series platforms provide broadband access services to
thousands of demanding end users, including large corporations in the
energy field (oil, gas, power), multiple tenant buildings, and public
sector organizations (schools, universities and government agencies).

NAT & DHCP
InfiNet Wireless 5000 Series products present an unparalleled level of
performance and advanced features, including Network Address Translation
(NAT) and Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DHCP) server. NAT increases
network security and allows the occupants of an entire building to share a
single global IP address. DHCP server allows IP addresses to be assigned
dynamically at the building. Distributing these administrative functions
to each building significantly reduces the “administrative overhead”
traffic to the service provider’s headquarters.
Rugged, Outdoor Mount Chassis
Series 5000 devices are housed in a weatherproof, sealed, molded metal
housing that mounts outside the building on a mast or tower. A kit for
wall mounting is offered. The routers support up to 300 feet of outdoor
Ethernet cable between the LAN and the RF unit.
IP-Tunneling
Tunnels are used to merge two remote and physically unconnected
networks into one logical structure. Tunnels are widely used to create
corporate networks or the so-called virtual private networks (VPN):
several remote offices, connected to the network through the same or
different providers, are connected to the company headquarters and to each
other by tunnels, thus forming one corporate structure.
VoIP Gatekeeper
In addition to the OS WANFleX, Infinet Wireless Series 5000 routers
also include a highly efficient VoIP H.323 gatekeeper, the Unify
SoftSwitch. It supplies the core element of an IP-telephony system,
providing functionality for both the network’s subscriber (IP-phones and
their gateways) and OM equipment including authentication, flexible
routing, and calls accounting. Address translation and number plans are
additional features of the VoIP gatekeeper.
